Kelley is a PhD candidate at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Her dissertation, “‘All Personnel Profit’?: Domestic Labor of Military Families in the Post War and Cold War Eras,” explores daily life and household burdens of American military families in the conscription era following the Second World War. She is a former military officer and mother of two young children.
