Garrett Wright is an M.A./Ph.D. candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research analyzes the role of Central Plains Indians, specifically the Pawnee and Otoe, in eighteenth-century Franco-Spanish imperial conflicts. His thesis examines the local, regional, and geopolitical context and consequences of the 1720 Villasur Expedition's defeat by a combined force of Pawnee, Otoe, and French warriors.
